troubleshooting guide
here are some common fixes in the event of keyboard issues!
rule of thumb:
1. toggle your keyboard to the right connection (wired/wireless/bluetooth),
2. change a different USB port that is connected directly to the motherboard only,
3. or change to a different USB type-c cable.

probable causes:
1. a bent switch - remove the keycap and switch and check if the pins are bent. if they are, swap them to another switch. if you do not have extra switches, pull one from a key that you do not use often.
2. switch not inserted properly/fully - remove the keycap and check if the switch is fully inserted. the top housing of the switch should sit flushed with the top plate.
3. dead switch - switches do wear out over time (usually many months or years) or due to environmental conditions such as high humidity. simply swap another switch and check if it solves the issue.
4. dust and debris - dirt usually accumulates beneath the keycaps and enters the switches over time. use compressed air over your switches to remove debris.

this is if the keyboard lights up but you are unable to type anything.
1. VERY IMPORTANT
make sure that the keyboard is plugged directly into your motherboard (USB 3.0 preferred). do not plug it into a USB hub or directly in a power point.
2. plug into a different USB port or using another USB type-c cable
3. make sure you are on the correct mode - adjust this by sliding the toggle on the top of the keyboard or under the caps lock key
e.g. the keyboard will not work if it is plugged in via USB but on bluetooth mode.
if you are using wireless/bluetooth, make sure to toggle to USB/wired before charging it via cable.

this is a tricky one as there are a multitude of possible factors.
as a rule of thumb, check the cable, USB port, toggling to wireless/bluetooth first before proceeding.
--- #1 to #4 will be for simplier fixes ---
1. faulty USB cable - cables do wear and tear over time or if it is squished between objects. change to a different cable and check if it works.
2. USB port - try changing the USB port (3.0 recommended) and plug it directly into the motherboard only.
to further check if your computer recognizes the keyboard, check your settings > devices connected. alternatively go to device manager > keyboards.
3. USB type-c port in keyboard - continuous force or snagging can cause unstable or a loss in connection.
4. dead or degraded batteries - connect via cable and see if the keyboard works. lithium batteries degrade over time with continuous charging or prolonged use (this usually happens with keyboards that have gotten a lot of use)
--- from this point on, it is a PCB issue that requires a replacement part or keyboard ---
5. blown ESD diodes - electrostatic discharge (ESD) is often caused by static shock from your fingers in dry environment and it can fry the protection diodes on the circuit board. high voltage can fry the internal chip or circuit board. this requires a new PCB or replacing the keyboard.
6. corrupt microcontroller (MCU) - the primary internal chip responsible for translating keypresses into computer code can suffer from a corrupt bootloader. this "bricks" the device, leaving it unresponsive with all LEDs permanently stuck on or off. this can be due to firmware issues, power surge or static shock.
an example will be a whole row being pressed simultaneously when you only pressed on 1 key.
7. water damage - spilling water will most likely either create random keys typed, RGB lights to die or the keyboard completely not working. this voids warranty.
8. any other damage like dropping or bending the keyboard will damage the PCB. this will also void warranty.
we know that a faulty keyboard is not an ideal situation especially when you use it everyday or it malfunctions halfway through use, though it is a very rare occurence.

1. to make sure that the RGB is turned on, follow your keyboard's manual for the Fn combo for light settings, or you may configure this with its driver.
2. perform a factory reset, the keyboard's manual should have the Fn combo but it is usually unplug, hold Fn+Esc for 5 sec while unplugged, then plug in while still holding.
3. dead diodes - environmental conditions and most of the time, water damage, will affect the LEDs.

if you are unable to connect via bluetooth
1. follow your keyboard's manual on the Fn combo on initiating bluetooth pairing. it is usually holding Fn+Q/W/E/R or Fn+1/2/3/4 till a blue light starts flashing on the key.
if the specific Fn+_ does not work, try another alphabet.
to connect, open your computer's settings and search for device. the device name should pop up and you are all good to go!
some keyboards might not remember your device and you might need to pair it whenever you use the keyboard.
2. for unstable connection
for wireless - do make sure the USB receiver is properly insert.
for bluetooth - interference or a far distance might hinder bluetooth connectivity. try removing other connected bluetooth devices or bring the keyboard closer.
if it has been paired before but does not work, try forgetting device and re-pairing again,

keys with stabilizers are usually the main culprit for this issue!
the main problem is too much lube on the stabilizers.
1. remove keycap and switch, then remove the stabilizers. most keyboards use plate mounted stabilizers (there are 2 clips at the side)
simply pry one side and the other and the stablizer should pop out. gently use a cotton swab to wipe off excess lube and assemble back.
press the keycap firmly so it catches on the switch and the 2 points of the stabilizer.
for screw-in stabilizers, the steps are the same but you will need a compatible size screwdriver to remove the screws.

a common issue for Mac users.
check that you are using the correct language and keyboard layout in your Mac settings. you may test type to make sure that the keys correspond correctly on your computer.
our keyboards are only in ANSI American layout.

1. check if the keycap or switch is fully inserted properly.
2. switches might be worn out - swap out the affected key by removing the keycap and switch and use another switch.
3. perform a factory reset on your keyboard by unplugging your keyboard, hold Fn+Esc simultaneously for 5 seconds while still unplugged, and then plugging your keyboard back in while still holding Fn+Esc.
4. for keys with stabilizers (caps lock, spacebar, backspace, enter) do make sure that the keycap is resting fully on both stabilizers. if unsure you may press down and it should sit horizontally instead of an angle.
5. you might need to update the keyboard's firmware. this is usually an issue with older keyboards (2024/early 2025)

for e.g. caps lock, shift, spacebar, backspace, enter
most keyboards come factory lubed now, but overtime it might wear off. simply apply a thin layer of some dielectric grease or lube to the stabilizers and it should solve this issue.
